8 weeks ro go...

Loads happening over the last few weeks:

Enduro night out booked in for 1st September in London, meet a few people and have a few beers.

Enduro riding practice weekend in Wales 7th / 8th September - 2 full days riding practice in the Welsh mountains! Should be perfect.

Full gym training is now underway, cycling, gym and some proper training from Dave. Plus I'm really close to the target now :)

Next: Start thinking about kit making sure I've got everything, get my injections and that'll be it!

June update

The flight details came out this week! so it's really happening... Training is going quite well, apart from the laziness :)

Scott and I spent an excellent day in Mid Wales at the Yamaha Offroad School - just an amazing day, riding a Yam 250 off road, through the hill, tracks, everything. All in all about 80 offroad miles in a day. Brilliant, but very tough, never fell off a bike so much in one day. The young apprentice (Scott) is clearly a million times better off road than me, so spent the day wheelie-ing and blasting around on a 450 at the front of the fast group, whilst I was mostly falling off somewhere in the middle of the group... oh well, still great fun and excellent practice for enduro.

We also had a day at the California Super bike school at Rockingham circuit. Although not quite so relevant for training, still a fantastic day. Can't say enough about the superbike day there, just get and do it.

Sponsorship is going quite well, reckon I'm still going to be about £1500 short with everything I know, so time for another big push now the summer (huh!) is here...

Easter Update

Nothing to do with Easter! but here's an update. There's been quite a lot going on in terms of sponsorship and generally getting ready over the last months or so...

• California Superbike School have helped out with some goodies (books and Fleece) for me to raffle
• Abraxas, BBS Fastners, Norwich Union Healthcare and Hamptons International all provided sponsorship - thanks again
• Started training in the gym and trying to get plenty of miles in on the road, I should be organising some off road training for next month...

I've now got to the grand total of £2600 and hope this will be over £3000 by the end of April, which means I'm nicely on track to reach my target, however, it gets harder from here! I've now got to be a little more inventive with the sponsorship I think to keep it coming in!

E.on Team Night out

At my last ngiht out with the E.ON team, I took the chance to capture some people in the bar for sponsorship and have to say Thank You to everyone there - I raised an amazing £435!!! Thank You to everyone for beign so generous, keep in touch and keep checking the site for my progress - cheers people

Sponsorship deal with Peugeot!

Coventry Peugeot dealership have pledged to donate £2 for every car they sell up to the end of March!! This is a fantastic idea and hopefully will get some press coverage for the local paper. Many Thanks to Richard French (Dealership Manager) for not only making this happen, but also coming up with the idea. Oh, and his other idea of attaching a side car and taking him with me :) is still under review... more details to follow soon.
